Once the ceremony is over, the bouquet has been thrown in the direction of the bridesmaids and the speeches have been warmly applauded, it's time to take that first dance.
What better way to step onto the dancefloor with a live band playing the couples favorite song at a tempo thats fitting with the evening.
Once the cake has been cut, it's time to get people to the dance floor for a well deserved boogie.
Choose from a solo singer, pop band to a big band capable of cutting a wide groove for the guests.
Once the band finish, employ the services of a DJ to spin the popular wheels of steel, well most likely plastic!
Having a live band at our wedding was a must as it makes the reception evening a real event that the whole family can enjoy. The best part was seeing the mother in law dance with dad. Luckily the filming stopped after the speeches!
Things to Consider
What type of music do you require? Pop, rock, big band, jazz, 70's dance.
Will the music you choose be pleasant for the whole family? Maybe have a jazz band for the first dance then a DJ later on for the yougsters.
Do you need extra equipment for the band? Is there a stage with lighting? Is there a public address system (PA)? Are the band going to be loud/quiet enough for the event?
